Email Marketing 101

Lately there's been conflicting schools of thought regarding Email Marketing. Some feel that it is a thing of the past while others strongly believe it's an important option for building your "interactive" list.

It is my opinion that Email Marketing should continue to be one of the tools in your arsenal for successful internet marketing. If done correctly, and consistently, one will reap the benefits.

Following are a few easy ways you can get more results from Email Marketing. It's best if you consider Email Marketing as a long term commitment to your business.

Market to your own list, if possible, rather than someone else's. Your goal should be to build your own list and consistently work it. If you want long term success then nurture your list and provide valuable & timely information. The bigger the list, the greater your chances of having longevity on the net.

Don't bombard your list with junk mail. It's important to develop your credibility by building relationships. Determine what the needs of the people on your list are & give it to them. People are more willing to help you if you have helped them first.

Offering things of value for free is a great way to build credibility. It is also an excellent way to show people that you care about them and reinforces the fact that your sole purpose is not to sell them something. Over time, they will start initiating contact with you because you are no longer a stranger, but a trusted business source.

If you don't have a list yet, you may wish to buy co-registration leads. This is a fantastic way to jump-start a list and continue to add to it on a consistent basis. For people who do not have the time, or possibly even the money to build their own list, co-registration leads can be an excellent way to do it.

Leads you obtain from co-registration won't know who you are at first. Therefore, it is important to work extra hard in the relationship building part of your email campaign. The primary point to remember is even though you are not personally generating these leads, they are opt in leads and good potential prospects for your products.

Autoresponders are a must for keeping in contact with your list. Spend some time writing powerful followup letters, then set it & forget it. Let the autoresponder do the work for you. It's amazing how effective these are. There are a few reputable autoresponders on the market which allow you to pay a monthly or annual fee for their service.

Autoresponders provide an easy way to brand yourself and build relationships. You can even use HTML in your followup letters. I recommend that you include pictures of yourself, products, or the logo from your website. Your email list will become familiar with you and ultimately read your emails, rather than delete them. This, of course will lead to more of your products and services being purchased.

Take the time to properly market to your email list. It will not only become lucrative for you, but also for the members on your list. This will be a direct result of the valuable expertise you share over the years, as well as the fantastic home business opportunities you provide.

Disciples of the Internet

There's a couple of fascinating membership groups that are taking the internet by storm. They have a philosophy that most have long forgotten. And that is...it's better to give than to receive. I'm happy to see that this tradition is finally being revisited.

This mind set is being led by "My Virtual Marketing Team" (My VM Team) and "The Plug-In Profit Site Power Group, (PIPS Power Group or PPG). Both groups consist of Mentors who share a wealth of knowledge with members about how to make money on the internet. These Mentors provide step by step instructions, as well as advise which online tools are best for improving website content and visibility. Once the members have invested the time and energy into making their websites search engine friendly, their traffic and sales show a dramatic increase.

My VM Team is free to join and their members span the globe. Anyone who wants to sign up may do so by visiting myvmteam.info. One of my favorite sayings of Jim Cobb, the Founder of My VM Team, is "it doesn't cost a dime, dollar, or peso" to be a part of the group.

Two other like minded individuals share in the mentoring of My VM Team with Jim Cobb. They are Stephanie Haile aka 'Wavecritter' and Don Hill aka 'Digital Don Hill.' Stephanie and Don are also focused on helping others achieve success with their home-based businesses. The trio have a weekly talk show on Blog Talk Radio at myvmteam.com; they've made "How To" videos on YouTube; and share numerous other techniques designed to help entrepreneurs overcome personal challenges and pursue their dreams. Since the information and instructions are given freely money isn't a deterrent for the members.

The PIPS Power Group is also global. In fact the 6 Mentors, Ken Troyer (Founder), Jeff Casmer, Mal Keenan, Cynthia Minnaar, Suzanne Morrison, and Jeff Schuman, each live in different parts of this great world of ours. Three live in the US, one lives in Ireland, another in South Africa, and yet another in Scotland. It's amazing how the internet brings people together from different walks of life who share a common goal.

The PIPS Power Group Mentors each own a profitable Plug-In Profit Site (PIPS) and their goal is to help others earn a full time income with their online business. One requirement for joining the PIPS Power Group is that you must already own a Plug-In Profit Site. A Plug-In Profit Site is basically a website that comes complete with everything one needs to start an online business.

Both 'Newbies' and Veterans to Internet Marketing see the value of owning a PIPS. It offers work at home opportunities for those who want add'l income to supplement their day jobs. Making money online does not come without hard work. The members recognize this and often seek constructive criticism from the Mentors. The Mentors respond by either posting comments in the PPG Forum (so that all members may benefit from their answer), email, skype, or call. No question goes unanswered, which reinforces the value provided by these groups.

I highly recommend My VM Team and the PIPS Power Group for anyone who has an online business or wants to start one. They are an awesome and dedicated group of people with members who truly care about one another.

It's time to make the vacation plans again. Where should you go, take a cruise, perhaps? Fly to an exotic place or take a leisurely train ride across the country. If time is a factor, a short romantic getaway may be in order. Let's see, how about a 7-day Mexican Riviera Cruise or why not Jamaica man? In Jamaica you could take a jeep safari in the jungle, swim in the waterfalls and stay in a private villa. Another excellent choice might be to go to the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Any and all of the above require planning ahead. The question is which of you will be the one to handle the preparations and make the reservations? There's usually one person in the family who's delegated (or self-appointed) to be in charge of the annual family excursion. Let's say it's you.

You are very thorough with your research and attempt to get your spouse's input and suggestions. You decide to use your computer to handle the arrangements because it's no longer necessary to go to a "brick & mortar" travel agency. Internet Promotion Techniques 101

Did you realize there are only three types of online
promotion?... This statement may seem odd and even untrue in
your mind, but I am speaking in more general terms than you
might be thinking.

Let me explain.

The three types of promotion are Junk, Active and Passive
promotions.

JUNK PROMOTIONS ARE MONEY PITS

Junk promotions are those that seem to produce results, but by
their very nature are really only illusionary promotions.

For example, let me begin with FFA (Free For All) pages. You
might find yourself subscribing to a submission program that
tricks you into believing you are submitting your links to tens
of thousands search engines.

According to the Open Directory website, they have only approved
1705 search engines and directories for inclusion in their
database (http://dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Searching/).

I like using the DMOZ directory as an example because submitted
links are tested by human beings with integrity, for the honesty
used in site description. Search Engine Watch and other search
watchers tend to show fewer than these 1705 engines, primarily
because a lot of the engines provide very little value.

Yes, you can submit your URL to a FFA page, but FFA's usually
only permit 100 or 1000 links on their page at any one time. So,
if ten thousand people are submitting a link to an FFA page on a
daily basis, then the average life of your link is between seven
minutes and 144 minutes. I suspect the actual number of
submitters is much higher and the results are much worse. Given
that few people surf FFA pages, the chances of your submission
being of any real value is practically nill!

Most of the people telling you that you can submit your site to
tens of thousands of search engines are truly only submitting
your site to FFA pages! Beware of the false promises.

Another junk promotion method is Safe Lists. A safe list is a
mailing group that is signed up to be received by people who
want to submit their own ads. Now, most safe lists have
thousands of subscribers who are able to submit their ads daily
or weekly. The person signed up to receive the list will receive
anywhere from twenty to 140+ messages a day from the list. These
messages will be received by people only interested in promoting
their own thing who do not have the right motivation to open,
let alone read Your Advertising. As a result, thousands of
messages go out daily or weekly that will never be seen by
anyone but the sender of the ad. Where is the value in that?
There is none.

ACTIVE PROMOTIONS

Active promotions are the type that require you to go out on a
daily basis or a weekly basis and put out your advertisements.
With active promotions, you will either place your advertising
or you will not sell your products or services. Your choice is
simple --- work or starve.

Examples of active promotions include Pay Per Click Search
Engines (PPCSE's), Direct Email, Ezine Advertising, Solo Ezine
Ads, Newsletter Publishing, Ezine Ad Swaps, Classified Ads,
Auctions, Site Sponsorship and Banner Ads.

Some people are able to utilize these methods very productively,
while others are destined to drop their money into the
bottomless pit of failed Internet promotions.

PASSIVE PROMOTIONS

Passive promotions are those promotions that can continue to
provide results for you long after you have invested the work to
make them available to the Internet community.

Examples of passive promotions include: Link Exchanges,
Articles, Ebooks, Content Exchanges and Writing Testimonials for
others.

Let's look at articles as a solid example of my point.

You are reading an article that I have written to promote my own
business. This article is timeless and therefore could have been
written five years ago and still have been as valuable as it is
today.

Due to the fact that the article is timeless, it can and will be
placed in newsletters/ezines and their accompanying online
archives, on websites and in ebooks for many more years to come.

As a result, this article will continue to serve me well beyond
the time in which I wrote it and submitted it to publishers and
webmasters for public consumption and publication.

This is the best example I can give you of an excellent passive
promotional method.

AVOID THE MONEY PITS

Many try and even fewer succeed to conquer the Internet and to
produce their dreams of online wealth.

My hope is that you will be one of the people who conquer the
challenges before you and to make a nice living while working
online. It will take drive, determination, study plus trial and
error, but you can make it work for you.

Please continue to educate yourself so that you can avoid the
money pits - instead, strive to find the money barrels. It can
be done. I am living proof.

Ashley Dillon, Your Friends Miss You

Recently, I was reminded of just how fragile life is. A friend of my teenage daughter died unexpectedly. The news of Ashley Dillon's death was devastating because she was young, vibrant, and loved by all. During her short time on earth she made many friends, volunteered at her church, competed in sports & participated in the high school band. According to my daughter, Juanita, there was never a time when her friend didn't have a smile on her face or kind words for those around her.

Juanita called me from school to tell me of the death of her friend. However, it was hard to understand what she was saying because of the uncontrollable sobs coming from her. I had never heard her cry so deeply. That evening, when I arrived home, we spent time talking about Ashley. Juanita kept repeating that her friend was a good person who always got A's on her report card & was nice to everyone. She just didn't understand why God would take such a young person who had a positive influence on others.

While I didn't have the answers, I did know that God has a plan for each of us. It's not for us to question why such a loving, brilliant individual's life was snuffed out at an early age. It is God's Will and He wanted Ashley to be with Him. Only faith in our Lord will help get friends and family through these extremely challenging times.

My thoughts turned to the family. No one expects, nor wants to out live their children. I wanted to reach out to them and let them know how deeply this has touched me and that they are in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could erase the huge loss that the family is experiencing, and take away their pain & anguish.

I love my teenage daughter deeply and would be devastated if anything happened to her. I call her my "P & J" (pride & joy). While she's lovable the majority of the time, there's occasions when we have disagreements. I've discovered that the teenage years tend to be challenging for parents and children alike. I call the struggles & moodiness that teenagers experience "the teenager syndrome."

My P & J was always an angel during her pre-teen years. But, lately a different side appears from time to time. It's during these moments that I must keep reminding myself that the angelic side will reappear soon.

I've been told that the teenager syndrome totally disappears around the age of 22. Until then I'll continue to motivate, love, nurture and guide her. No matter what challenges we may have we both know that we'll overcome them. For the love in our family is strong and the Lord's Blessings are many. I will always cherish our time together.

I can't imagine that Ashley experienced "the teenager syndrome" because she had such a big heart. On the other hand she was a teenager and may have had an occasional mood swing. If so, I want her family to remember that Ashley loved them very much. Focus on the positives and don't beat yourself up wishing that you would have handled things differently.

I'm sure she admired her "parentals" for standing firm in their beliefs and family values. I would also venture to guess that if she had ever been "grounded" or not allowed to hang out with her friends, she knew that she was being disciplined out of love. Ashley would want her "parentals" to hold onto the precious memories that you created together.

Ashley Dillon was only 16 years old when she died. However, in her young life, she managed to become an inspiration in the lives of many. Do not let her acts of generosity and kindness be in vain. Let's keep her memory alive. Her high school should have an "Ashley Dillon Day."

On that day, why not do more acts of kindness for others than you normally would. The next time you see someone, smile. Ashley would have. It might just be the one thing that helps that person get through a stressful day. If someone drops a book, why not pick it up for them? Ashley would have. If someone needs a favor, why not help them? Ashley would have.

How about visiting a patient at Children's Hospital or a senior citizen in a nursing home? Ashley would have. It's quite possible that you're the only visit they'll get. As a bonus, you just may discover that you enjoy helping others and choose to visit often. It's very rewarding.

Every student could donate a dollar in Ashley's name. I'll personally donate $100.00 to this charity. All of the money could then be presented to her family or donated to the American Heart Association.

Networking Your Home Business Within Circles of Influence

When you need an auto mechanic or an air conditioning repairman,
where do you turn for help? Sure, some people turn to the yellow
pages. But most will turn to friends and family and ask if they
know of anyone who can do the work.

The best place for your business to be positioned is to be the
business on the tips of the tongues of the people asked to make
the referral.

THE 300 RULE

Preachers, funeral directors and people in a few other
professions have learned "the 300 rule" through their own
personal experience.

"The 300 rule" states that the average person knows 300 people
on a friendly level. Wedding planners tend to make reservations
for 300 guests. Funeral directors tend to need to make room for
300 mourners. You get the idea.

DOODLING WITH CIRCLES OF INFLUENCE

Imagine your circle of friends, family and acquaintances, a.k.a.
your circle of influence. Now, draw your circle of influence as
a circle on a blank piece of paper.

Next, contemplate the people in your parents` circle of
influence. Some people who know your parents also know you.
Therefore, you will share some influence with the people your

Meaning if the owner introduces a new product to the menu, they can lose their rights to the franchise.

Regardless of the necessary investment, the decision is based on one thought. Do you want to buy the opportunity to run someone else's business, and probably make a decent wage out of it, or do you want to have total control over a business you own? One of the toughest parts of owning an online business is getting traffic to your site. Traffic is what drives sales and sales it what drives you to operate a business. Kind of like a pay for performance agreement. If the ad produces sales, you pay the site owner a percentage of the sale. If the ad does not produce any sales, you pay them nothing.

These other sites want to make money without having to warehouse merchandise or handle any of the shipping and payments. Their only work is putting your ad on their site and then promoting their site to get more visitors. The more sales they make for you, the more money they earn in commissions. The more advertising they do of their own site, the more visitors are sent your way to buy your products. This pay for production type of advertising, affiliate marketing is one of the fastest growing methods of earning money on the internet and allows even small businesses to establish a large marketing network with a bare bones budget.

Additionally, one of the algorithms search engines use is counting the number of quality links to your site from other sites. Every affiliate that posts your ad on their site is a link back to you and you do not have to trade links with them, making it more attractive to the search engines. This can also increase traffic direct to your site from search engine users.

IF they are a form of delivery and pick up, how is there driving record do they have a valid drivers license? Is it in or out of state? Will they have a vehicle or will you provide this? Does this person have the communication skills required to take orders and mark them correctly? Is this person trustworthy to run deposits to the bank or keep records of transaction for you? Knowing the task and the expectations for the related task will help you to research the persons character for the position.

Personal qualities can make or break the hiring process of an individual. Many businesses require a questionnaire to be filled out that contains questions concerning morals, ethics and dependability. You can find such questionnaires online or you can create your own. Having these prepared for an interview can make the process flow much smoother. You can have them fill out the paperwork and then review the answers with the person. This can assist you in knowing if you want to pursue this person as an employee or turn them away for the businesses benefit.

The process of hiring a person is not always easy. Concerns of a person’s personal background of drugs or abusive behavior can be something to look into. You can never be too precautious when having a person join you in your home as well as your business. Any convictions or bankruptcies as well as other court proceeding transcripts are public record and available online. If you feel it is necessary to know this type of personal history it is available to you. Most important factor in hiring an employee is trust. If a sense of trust is not present simply move on. or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a
great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives
and the incredible freedom that succeeding in this business would
provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.

If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to make money
with affiliate programs or make your living on the Internet, you
won't. It's that simple.

For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of
realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money
online. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a
matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then
adapting it to my situation.

There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of
them) are making money online with affiliate programs. Just get
online and do some research and you'll find countless
testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the
Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the

All of my life, or at least as far back as I can remember, I’ve wanted to be known as a Humanitarian or Philanthropist. In order to accomplish this I believe that I must first be financially successful. After all it takes money to help improve the welfare of others & increase the well-being of humankind.

I also wanted to raise children, although I had no desire to carry or deliver them myself. So you can imagine my joy & elation when I was approved to be the legal guardian of a little girl who was named after my mom. Actually, this little girl was related to me, but my anticipation of being a mom was so great that you would have thought that I was carrying her in my womb.

In April 1993, I flew out west to meet my great niece for the first time and to bring her home. It was at that time that I was advised that her older brother was also in foster care. Because the children were placed in two different foster homes neither child knew the other existed. My great niece was almost 2 years old and my great nephew was almost 3. Well I couldn't just take my great niece home and leave her brother in foster care, so at age 38, I instantly became the "parent" of two toddlers. Both in need of lots of TLC...and potty training.

It was very rewarding keeping the family together instead of letting strangers adopt them. I nurtured them, supported their dreams, cheered their efforts & accomplishments in academics, sporting events & talent competitions; gave them positive reinforcement when they were disappointed, held them when they were scared & nursed them to health when sick. Over the years I watched them grow into very special individuals…each with their own distinct personalities.

I tried my best to attend every special event in their lives & I was there for them when life dealt what they perceived to be major setbacks in their lives. Of course, as you probably know, they bounced right back & soon forgot what caused them concern in the first place. They got me through my ups & downs, as well and brought much joy & happiness in my life.

Fast forward to January 2008...now those cute little toddlers are both teenagers & life is very different for all of us. All of a sudden my opinions don’t seem to matter to them very much anymore. If there's something out there called 'the teenager syndrome,' we're going through it right now. I've found that teens value the advice of other teens much more than their own parents. I will continue to support them & pray that they make the right choices & decisions when faced with challenges out in this great world of ours.

I still have my dream of becoming a Humanitarian, although I haven’t yet become financially successful. I won’t give up until I succeed or the Good Lord takes me to be with Him. You see, in July of 1993 I lost a brother to AIDS. There was nothing I could do to prevent the pain, anguish & humiliation that he went through. But I believe that I can & will help others. One of the promises I made to myself is to fund housing for people living with AIDS & to help find a cure.

I also have a burning desire to provide all the comforts in life for my mom. This includes buying her very nice home and car. Mom dedicated her life to raising 7 children & working numerous hours just to put food on the table & pay the bills. Although she's 75 years old and raising her granddaughter as her own child, she never asks for anything. My mom is one strong woman and my role model!

Yes, my dreams are huge, but without huge dreams there would be few accomplishments in this world. My favorite poem is entitled “It’s All in the State of Mind.” This poem reminds me of one of Napoleon Hill's quotes: "What ever the mind of man (or woman) can conceive and believe, it will achieve."

I believe that 'Friendswin' and my other home-based business ventures will bring financial wealth. Financial freedom will allow me to fund homes for individuals living with AIDS which will also bring me peace, but finding a cure will be the ultimate accomplishment.

Do your ears perk up when hear that your favorite store is having a sale? Do you spend endless hours surfing the internet for discounts? Does it feel good to help others? I bet most of you answered yes to these questions.

Internet Marketers Need PMA. Do You Have It?

Why is PMA so powerful? Perhaps a famous quote of Napoleon Hill's can give some insight to how I feel about PMA. "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." I think it's important to add the words "with PMA" at the end of that sentence. Napoleon believed, as I do, in the power of PMA.

PMA, (positive mental attitude) was first introduced to me by W. Clement Stone's company, Combined Insurance. That's when I also learned of Napoleon Hill and one other PMA powerhouse, Zig Ziglar. (Speaking of Zig, I will finally get a chance to see him in person. I am so excited!)

A positive mental attitude gives one that extra boost of energy needed to overcome challenges. It also contributes to a cheerful mood and lets one enjoy life more than those with negative attitudes. In my opinion Internet Marketers must have PMA, with faith, to be successful. Without it, it's easy to give up before reaching your goals. PMA helps to keep everyone motivated when faced with adversity.

Speaking of PMA, I had a very special coach in high school. Her name was Jean Marks and she coached basketball, field hockey, volleyball, & track & field. Yes, she was well versed in many different areas & as a result she inspired our teams to numerous victories and helped build our character.

It was through Coach Marks that we adopted a poem as our pre-victory chant. Prior to each basketball game our team would get in a huddle and start reciting the poem. We'd begin softly & slowly, almost in a whisper, and as the poem progressed we'd increase our volume and speed. By the time we finished we were super psyched up for the game and ready to take on the world.

The name of the poem is "It's All in the State of Mind." Unfortunately, the author is unknown. Here's the way that I remember it:

It's All in the State of Mind!

If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win, but think you can't,
It's almost a cinch, you won't.

If you think you won't, you've lost.
For out in this world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will,

Recently I saw a version of this same poem while reading a book written by Napoleon Hill, called "Think & Grow Rich." Boy was I amazed & elated. For many years the only time I had heard this poem was when I was reciting it to my kids & friends. I was very excited to discover that Mr. PMA, as I call Napoleon, included my favorite poem in his book!

The awesome power of PMA made a deep impression on me and I set my mind to live by it. Over the years my friends have asked how I can remain in a good mood and not let certain things bother me. My only secret is because I believe in the power of PMA, with faith. Catch the PMA fever, it's contagious! All of a sudden your world will be a better place in which to live!

Here's Your Cue - It's Up To You!

First, it starts with the feeling that a small voice is whispering in your ear. Next, it permeates into your dreams. Suddenly you are waking up every morning with a smile on your face. Euphoria combined with anticipation energizes your soul.

Then reality sinks in and the smile quickly vanishes and is replaced with a scowl. It's true, you don't own your internet business yet. You're still chained to that 8 to 5 job. Yes, the job pays your wages and some of your bills, but it devours your time.

Time away from family and friends. Time to watch your daughter's volleyball games or son's cross country meets. Time to share a couple's massage with your spouse or go to a matinee. Time you could be focusing on your home-based, online business. Molding it slowly with your hands and developing it. Watching it turn into an automated, easy money making machine.

Another morning comes. Once again you must jump up when the alarm clock goes off and get ready to go to the office. You rationalize to yourself that the reason you still work there is because you like your employer. The company, as a whole is well liked by its employees & does a lot for the community. Your coworkers are fun and interesting, but a few could use a big dose of PMA. (positive mental attitude)

The benefits and perks of working for a corporation are nice, but the thought of being in charge of your destiny gets your heart racing. You long to say goodbye to the challenges and stress that go along with working for someone else.

So what keeps you from taking that first step towards freedom? Time freedom and financial freedom. Freedom to rebuild your self esteem and dignity without a boss tearing it down. Freedom to express your thoughts and implement your ideas without fear of rejection. Dare I say time for ultimate bliss?

So go for it. The time is right. Instead of your life being on auto pilot, put your home-based internet business on auto pilot. It'll keep generating income for you while you and your family are away enjoying the sights in Tahiti or taking a cruise around the world. Your online business will continue putting money in your bank account even while you sleep!

Here's your cue, it's up to you! Take the first step. There's easy money to be made on the internet. Whether you start small or plunge in, do something. Procrastination is not a virtue. But do not make the mistake of eliminating the job that has been paying you wages until you have a steady flow of income from your successful online business.

Continue to be an asset for your present company, but also exert time and energy into getting your business up and running. Keep in mind that it may take several months before the search engines become your friend and send traffic to your website. Therefore, it's important that you work as hard as you did when your employer first hired you.

Remember those first months of employment when you tried to impress the boss with your knowledge & efficiency? If it's difficult to recall, take a moment and relive those precious moments when your boss extended the job offer to you. You were elated, excited and determined to show everyone how quickly you would climb that corporate ladder to success.

Well, take all of those emotions and use them to get you through the next few months. The pay off will be great! A key point to remember is "don't burn any bridges." You may have heard this expression many times before, but it's a cliche for a very good reason.

Now that you are ready here's some basic steps to consider when starting your internet business:

Choose products that you believe in. Do a little research to determine if the products have generated great sales results for others. There's lots of excellent affiliate programs online which allow you to resell quality products for a profit. An alternative might be for you to create new products to sell.

Then choose a domain name. A domain is your "office" in cyber space. I have a few different domain names registered for the various products I promote. You must have a domain name registered in order to own a website. You may register a domain for less than $15.00 per year at genesisdomains.com, godaddy.com or similar companies.

Next, choose a website. Some are free and some have minimal monthly fees. Keep in mind that it's much more beneficial to own your website. As the owner you will be allowed to make changes to the website. You are in control. There are numerous websites available for your use which are owned by others. Most of these don't allow you to make any changes or updates to the website.

The hosting account is very important. There are several competing for your business. Some are free and others charge a monthly fee. Choose wisely. If the hosting account for your website fails to work, you may lose thousands of dollars. Do your research and find one that has an excellent track record for staying online & providing world class customer service. It's critical that your hosting account be state of the art. Therefore, you may wish to invest a monthly fee to obtain one.

Announce to everyone that you've started your own business. Send e-mails, postcards & fliers. Join free traffic exchanges, add your website address, as well as your various money making links & banners to each. Start a blog, write articles and submit them to directories and ezines.

These days, it seems like everyone wants to work
from home and make money on the Internet. But
before you even turn on your computer, the first
question you have to ask yourself is whether
you’re cut out for this kind of work.

The fact is, building a home-based business isn’t
for everyone. Some people like the commute. They
really do enjoy having a boss who tells them what
to do, and they like the routine of working
nine-to-five for an ordinary salary that can
barely pay the mortgage. Personally, I think
they’re nuts.

More reasonably, there are people who are
concerned about the risk of starting up their own
business. They’re not sure it’s worth the
investment of time and money, and they’re scared
of the responsibility that comes with running
their own company. They wonder if there is
another way to escape the rat race.

I’m sure there is. You could win the lottery or

Big Thing". Anything can happen... Right?

For me, what happened was creating a successful,
self-running Internet marketing system. It didn’t
happen without effort. It didn’t happen without
at least some initial investment of both time and
money and, of course, it doesn’t happen now
without me making sure that the taxes are filed
and the paperwork is done. But it happened.

I’m my own boss. I work from home according to my
own schedule and I get to pocket all the cash my
business makes. If you’re prepared to give an
e-business the time, the work and the money it
needs to get started and get growing, it can
happen for you too.
